How to Make Sticky Chicken Drumsticks
We can prepare this yummy delight in just three simple and easy steps. Marinating the chicken drumsticks, preparing the sticky sauce, and finally cooking the drumsticks.
Marination
Take chicken drumsticks and give cuts to them and then prepare the marinade for these drumsticks.
In a mixing bowl combine salt, black pepper powder, paprika powder, garlic powder or paste, and white vinegar or lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients well.
Now apply this mixture thoroughly to the outer as well as to the inner of the cuts. Apply the marinade evenly and refrigerate the drumsticks for 30 minutes.
Sticky Sauce for Chicken Drumsticks
The sticky sauce is a part and parcel of this dish. This course gets its name after the sticky sauce.
Homemade sticky sauce ingredients are so simple; red chili sauce or barbecue sauce, soy sauce, tomato ketchup, white vinegar, and honey or sugar.
Take a mixing bowl and combine all these ingredients. Mix all the ingredients well and set aside this mixture.
Cooking the Drumsticks
After 30 minutes of marination, cook the marinated drumsticks. Pour 2 tbsp butter into a frying pan and melt it over low flame. Don’t keep the flame high. Spread the melted butter inside the frying pan.
Now place the drumsticks in the pan and cover it. Cook the drumsticks for 6 to 7 minutes. Make sure that the flame is low. After 7 minutes flip the sides of drumsticks, cover the pan again and cook for 6 to 7 minutes more.
After 7 minutes, change the sides of the drumsticks. By this time the drumsticks have excreted their water. Keep the heat low and cover the frying pan for another 7 to 8 minutes to produce the steam. Covering the pan is necessary to cook through the drumsticks till their interior.
After 7 minutes uncover the pan. Till that time the water will have been evaporated. If water is still there, continue cooking on low flame. This time keep the pan uncovered. Completely dry the water. Keep changing the sides of drumsticks till golden brown color. These drumsticks will take a total of 20 to 25 minutes to be cooked through.
Now pour prepared sticky sauce over the drumsticks. Keep stirring constantly along with changing the sides of drumsticks and coat the drumsticks well with the sauce. Keep stirring often on low flame till the sauce gets dense. Now turn off the flame.
Shift the sweety, salty, yummy, and sticky chicken drumsticks to the serving dish. This dish is versatile and can be served with any side dish of your choice.
